About us
Founded in Amsterdam in 1975 by Rob Meijer, RoB Amsterdam began as a small workshop creating handmade leather garments. What started with a passion for craftsmanship grew into an internationally recognised name in leather culture; a place where leather, design, art, sexuality, and community have come together for more than five decades.
From the beginning, RoB was about more than clothing. It became part of a growing international leather community, creating garments and accessories that celebrate craftsmanship, individuality, masculinity, and freedom. Through our Amsterdam and Berlin locations, RoB has continued to develop and produce leather and rubber gear by hand, combining traditional techniques with our own distinctive design language.
Step into our Amsterdam or Berlin locations and you can catch our craftsmen at work in the dedicated workshop at the back of the shop. We take pride in keeping our production in-house, allowing us to maintain the highest standards of craftsmanship, quality, and service.
Today, RoB Amsterdam remains a place where leather is made in-house, culture is preserved, and new ideas are created. Rooted in the history of queer and fetish culture, we continue to create for the communities shaping its future.
