Boot Maintenance

When drying wet boots, frst fill them with newspaper, then stand them upside down. Don't expose to any heat source hotter than what's comfortable to the back of your hand .

Do not allow leather to dry in the sun. Condition your boots once a month, to retain strength and flexibility. Re-oil after any exposure to rain or mud.
Pay particular attention to seams and stitching. Boots (or jackets) can be treated to a liberal coating of shoe cream or polish of any major commercial brand. Cover the article with a generous layer of conditioner, and leave it hangin for at least 60 minutes, before polishing of the residue with a soft brush or cloth.

Mud that is allowed to dry on leather will suck the natural oils out of the skin. Remove mud, as soon as possible, and recondition the leather well, after any such exposure. Burns can be re-coloured, using polish or staining solution, and conditioned as above. Such damage light-coloured leather is, however, difficult to repair.
